Topics for Course Projects
There are three different project topics, from which you can choose. All of them must be realized as Android App.
Next, you get a short description of what each App should be capable of, which can be used as starting point for requirements elicitation.
Money Control
Spending money is easy, taking control over it is most of the tiems a challenge. This App hsould be designed and implemented to help with the latter.
It hsould allow users to (manually) specify what they spent their money for. Given some income (that can be specified as well), it allows you at any time to double-check whether your money is in balance or not. Morover, maintaining a history of your inputs allows to observe how your behavior has changed, which is espically useful to get rid of imbalances.
Also, some statistics should be show virually to the user.
Get Home Safely
This App addresses an issue that many people may have faced: You are out with friends or alone and at some point you need to go home, alone at probably in the night. Even though the area may not bedangerous at all, there may be persons that worry about you and whether you got home safely. This App should be designed and implemented to help on that issue. When you start your trip, you can add people to track your way home, get informaed about unanticipated events and got noticed when you safely arrived on time or not. All communication take splace via in-App messaging and push notifications are the mean for your followers to stay updated.
Bird Tracking
Being in nature allows you to observe the wonderful side of our world. Especially birds are known to contribute to a healthy ecological system, but also to suffer form a reduced population. This App should help to gather information about which birds are around and where. In case yo see a specific bird, you can add this occurence with the app, add additional details or even link to more infomration about that. If your phone allows, even a photo can be added. For those, unsure about species, some easy-to-use guidance should be provided. Moreover, sharing your result with others allows to draw even a larger picture of birds in a certain region. Statistitics and visualizations should compelment the data-driven part.
